Clopidogrel-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura: a case report

چکیده
Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a rare variant of thrombotic microangiopathy. We report case TTP in Nigerian chronic kidney disease (CKD) patient who was previously on clopidogrel. The features resolved soon after clopidogrel withdrawn. Clopidogrel cardio-protective anti-platelet drug used CKD patients at risk dyspepsia. However, its potential to cause should be recognized and considered acute injury (AKI) clopidogrel.
Keywords: Clopidogrel; Thrombocytopenic Purpura; CKD; AKI; uremic encephalopathy.

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, a case report.
We report a case of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) in a 60 years-old woman with Sjogren's syndrome. Symptomatology on admission leads to evoke the diagnosis of TTP. Biological results allow to set the diagnosis. Actually, association of haemolytic anaemia, schizocytes and thrombocytopenia are in favour of TTP. Undetectable ADAMTS 13 activity (below 5%) confirms the diagnosis. In cong...

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a multisystem disorder characterized by microvascular aggregation of platelets and fibrin strands causing thrombocytopenia, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, and organ dysfunction. TTP can develop as a result of a deficiency in ADAMTS13 enzyme activity due to either a genetic defect or, more commonly, the development of anti-ADAMTS13 autoantibodies....
متن کاملSuccessful Treatment of Refractory Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura with Rituximab, a Monoclonal Antibody: a Case Report
Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is mostly attributed to the presence of an autoantibody against ADAMTS-13, a metalloprotease that degrades ultralarge von Willebrand protein multimers. Accumulation of vWF multimers and systemic platelet aggregation lead to microangiopathic thrombosis, hemolytic anemia, and end-organ ischemia. Most patients respond to therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), ...

Objective: Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is the most malignant variant of microangiopathy that usually presents by typical symptoms including thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, neurological abnormalities, fever and renal impairment. Report of the Case: We report a 12-year-old male presented by cytopenia, fever, purpura on his extremities, seizure and lethargy. Peripheral blood sm...

Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) is a life threatening, multisystem disease characterized by thrombocytopenia, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, neurological changes, renal failure, and fever. These signs and symptoms are thought to be caused by microthrombi, composed of agglutinated platelets and fibrin, which deposit in the arterioles and capillaries without mediation by an inflamma...
